Calgary Public Library: Comprehensive Digital Analysis and Execution
Summary
Simple Simple completed an extensive digital audit of the Calgary Public Library (which has 22 locations) , interviewing all business groups (operations, IT, marketing), which informed the requirements for a new website and digital remodeling strategy. Our core requirements were:
- Create a touch screen for the new downtown library launch
- Do media buys for Google Grants and Facebook
- Interviews of all business groups as part of a holistic digital audit that determined forward resolution
This was a particularly notable project because the new library won architectural awards, and is a tourist magnet for the city. It is a beautiful space that offers digital workspaces, play areas, detailed historical documents, and (obviously) books.
This was one of our projects that gave the whole team pride, because of it’s contribution to Calgary and moreover, families and communities.

Google grant and facebook ad buys
Google Ad Grants helps nonprofits share their causes with the world, raise awareness, attract donors, and recruit new volunteers using Google search ads. We have been operating the Calgary public library’s Google Ad Grants account since the new downtown library opened in 2018.
Each qualifying nonprofit has access to up to $10,000 per month in search ads shown on Google.com. We also purchase additional Google and Facebook ads for the library to provide awareness of special events and programming.
